Layout Reboot

Today I am sharing a layout I made for Lisa Truesdell's Memory Keeping Monday Challenge over at Two Peas (you can watch Lisa's video here). The challenge she set out was to make an autumn (fall) page without using traditional colours.

A couple of months ago I did a layout using a photo I took of the autumn leaves and it was one of those pages that you make up and even as you're making it you aren't happy and it somehow "absorbs" your negative thoughts and... well it turns out yuck. Here it is:

I made it using the SC SoCal kit and I attempted to use Gesso which as you can see is not my friend. I liked the words I used and also the exclusive Tim & Beck paper but I had used the only sheet I had so I cut up the original layout and rescued what I could of the paper. Although the challenge was to use un-traditional colours I really wanted to use that paper because I thought it tied in with the picture but to make it pop I teamed it with Aqua and Navy. I also used my newly learned layering skills.

I am really happy with the result and I have to say I do not regret pulling the original one apart at all.
Hope you all have a wonderful day,

  3. Your redo looks fabulous. The other was not bad either but just did not call out to you!
The second is so much nicer!
